This FlippingBook Joomla Component End-User License Agreement ("EULA") is a legal AGREEMENT between you and Mediaparts Interactive S.A. for the FlippingBook Joomla Component software product identified above, which product includes computer software and may include associated media, printed materials, and "online" or electronic documentation ("Software Product" or "Software " or "Product"). By downloading, installing, copying, or otherwise using the Software product, you agree to be bound by the terms of this EULA.

Do not use this Software Product until you have carefully read the following terms and conditions. By using the Software Product, you agree to the terms of this Agreement. If you do not wish to so agree, do not install or use this Software Product.

LICENSE GRANT

Mediaparts Interactive S.A. grants to you, on these terms and conditions, the non-exclusive right and license to use this Software. The Software is offered under a TRIAL LICENSE and it can only be used under ONE DOMAIN NAME. A trial license is available to evaluate this software product prior to purchase and it enables capabilities within the software product only for 30 days. The trial period begins once the software is downloaded through the vendor web site and is non-renewable.

DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTY

By downloading this software you agree that you wish to use the selected software and that you will not hold Mediaparts Interactive S.A., responsible in any way. Using of this software means that you have understood and agreed to all the terms and conditions of this disclaimer.

Mediaparts Interactive S.A. does not take any responsibility and is not liable for any damage caused through use of this software, be it indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages (including damages for loss of business, loss of profits, interruption or the like). Mediaparts Interactive S.A. does not take responsibility for the correct workings of software that has been modified in any way or by their use in ways they weren't designed for.

This software is sold on an AS IS basis. All features are listed on the product page. By downloading this software you agree that you have read and understood the product specifications and have assessed that they can be used by you in the way that you require.

OWNERSHIP

All right, title and interest in the intellectual property embodied in the Software and accompanying materials, if any, are owned by Mediaparts Interactive S.A. or its licensors. The Software is copyrighted and protected by international treaty provisions. Exclusive rights for commercial use of the Software worldwide are owned by Mediaparts Interactive S.A.

As defined by this Agreement, End-User receives limited rights of using the Software only. This Agreement does not grant you any intellectual property rights in the Software.

Why not free?

I know this won't give due gratitude to the developers of this wonderful component, but it would be absolutely great if this were free and open-source. lol

But eitherway, it's a lovely idea. A great tool for Joomla! users.

Joomla 1.0

Maybe it was already stated somewhere & I missed it, but I had problems installing on Joomla 1.0, with MySQL 5.0 & PHP 5.0

I didn't have much time so I had to move-on to alternative solutions. Sorry.

Needs Work

My initial response to the FlippingBook Component is that the effect is cool and just what was expected, however, the tools for setting it up and administering it are cumbersome, slow, and not intuitive.

Getting it installed went very smoothly. I had Joomla 1.5.x so I had to enable the legacy abilities in Joomla. Flipping book came up in the menus but were not in the same places described in the FAQ's, presumably due to the version differences.

The menus were confusing to use because they are mode driven. Had I known that initially it may not have been as much of an issue, but learning that on the fly made it annoying. The icons and menus that appear in the lower part of the screen appear to do nothing, although they may be making changes in the screen's mode of operation there is nothing to provide visual feedback that it has taken place.

The functions that are provided for the task at hand appear _above_ the buttons pressed to change mode. This is not natural and is very difficult to get used to. Changing screens or acting on commands is very slow to complete. In one instance the menus collapsed and I had
to log out and back in to regain access to the account.

Currently, I am reinstalling the component since when I decided to remove the menu item for the demo and just have the menu item for my album, all menus went away. All the work I did has apparently disappeared as well.

My impression is that this is not quite a release 1.x product, but exhibits a look and feel of an alpha or beta release. The admin user interface seems to need considerable work.
